Our Recent Adventures

The weekend before last we went to a hot air balloon festival. It was a lot of fun, and so crowded! There were lots of arts & crafts booths, food galore, and of course, hot air balloons. We got there in time for the hot air balloon rides, but the line was so long that they cut it off before we got in. This is an annual event, so next year we'll have to go especially early.

When it got dark out, they lined up the hot air balloons along the lake and lit them up (with the fire inside) to the beat of the live music that was playing on a stage nearby. It was truly mesmerizing, and the kids absolutely loved it!

Last weekend we went camping in the beautiful smoky mountains with my brother and his daughter (and Jack brought his best friend along). The air was cool and crisp and it was just a perfect weekend for camping.

Little Bill in the mountains.

After camping overnight we spent the next day playing in the Little River. The kids played in the water, collected rocks and quartz, and Little Bill skipped his first rocks, thanks to a lesson from his uncle. All in all, a fabulous weekend!

P.S. This morning I am drinking a homemade version of Starbucks pumpkin spice latte - with real pumpkin in it! So yummy! You can find the recipe at Kathies Kulinary Kreations.
