Holiday Cheer: Day 44

Happy Christmas Eve! We are going to my parents' home this evening for a big family Christmas party. Oh today we will deliver the sweet rolls to all of our neighbors, for them to pop into the oven and enjoy on Christmas morning.

Christmas Eve Prayer

Loving God, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate
and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children,
and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.

Amen.

Advent Activities:

- Watch Holy Heroes Advent Adventures videos.

- Light the candles on the Advent wreath and read today's liturgy. {Tomorrow we'll hear the liturgy at mass!}

- Make and hang today's Jesse tree ornament, a white candle, a halo of light signifying divinity and power. The three magi looked for Jesus, following a star, shining brightly above his birthplace. Matthew 2:1-12.  {Tomorrow is the manger for Christ. Luke 2:1-15}

- Say a decade of the rosary.

- Open another door on our Advent calendars.

God Bless You & Yours!
