Advent Activities:

- Watch the Holy Heroes Advent Adventures videos.

- Light two purple candles on the Advent wreath & read today's liturgy.

- Make & hang today's Jesse tree ornament, tablets for Moses and the ten commandments. Exodus 19:1 - 20:26  There is a wonderful children's song of the ten commandments on the CD, The Dogma Dogs. Catholic Cuisine has a cute idea for a snack to go with this one, using yum-o Milano cookies!

- Say a rosary decade.

- Open another door on our Advent calendars.

Getting things done:

There is nothing particular on the calendar today. I am hosting Christmas dinner this year and tomorrow I am supposed to finalize the menu so today I'll set aside a little time to look through recipes and dinner ideas.

As for the house, I have a crazy goal of turning the garage into a kids' den this winter so I may work in there some today as well, while the kids do their indoor chores. There are still unpacked boxes in there from moving into this house three years ago, so there's definitely a good deal of work to do in there!

Family Faith & Fun:

- You can have the kids make Christmas cards for friends or relatives using cookie cutters dipped in paint! I found this in a really old Christmas ideas book.

- Now that we're well into the Advent season, there's a great file folder game at the Catholic Toolbox. It is a game board and you have to answer true or false questions.

God Bless,
