Holiday Cheer: Day 27

{If you are new to this blog, welcome! If you are new to 45 Days of Faith, Family, & Fun, click here!}

Our littlest cat, Snickers has spent the last several snowy days right here, next to the radiator!

Advent Activities:

- Watch Holy Heroes Advent Adventure videos.

- Light two purple candles on the Advent wreath & read today's liturgy.

- Make & hang today's Jesse tree ornament, a lamb for Passover. Exodus 12:1 to 14:31 You can make lamb cupcakes with just marshmallows and black gel icing:

- Say a rosary decade.

- Open another door on our Advent calendars.

Getting things done: The calendar says to bring cookies to a nursing home & sing carols for the residents, but we are switching a few things around since we missed this past weekend. Today we're doing our toy workshop where we fix up & wrap toys to donate. Saturday we'll have our kids' cookie-decorating party, and next Wednesday we'll visit the nursing home with cookies and carols.

Family Faith & Fun: Candy canes! Jessica at Shower of Roses tells the meaning/history of candy canes, and I found a great lapbooking unit to go along with the book, The Legend of the Candy Cane.

Food: My food budget starts over on Thursday, then I can start posting the holiday recipes galore for you!!! For now here are a couple of recipes from last year:

God Bless!
